Re:  Updated Ultimook Race Info

Dear Coaches,

With the Ultimook Race just 6 days away, here is additional information.  Much of this information is directed toward parents, please forward this information to your athletes’ parents.

Dogs:  Dogs are allowed on the property on a leash, as long as they don’t mind my dog without a leash.

Parking Map:  Please notify parents that they need to follow signs for parking.   There will be absolutely no parking on the farm with the exception of handicapped marked vehicles.  Last year we had a lot of people go past the parking area to try and park at the farm.  This creates a lot of problems and ultimately it won’t get them any closer.

Busses, please go past the parking area and drop off the kids and then turn around to the parking area.  See map here.  There will be a lot of signs.

Entrance Fee:  Adults will be charged $3.00 and students 12 and over $2.00 to get into the farm.  Please do not give our volunteers a hard time.  Educate your parents.

Ultimook Race DVD:  The Ultimook X-Country race is one of the most unique and memorable races in the country and this year we are offering each runner the opportunity to purchase a commemorative DVD of their respective race.  Award-winning videographer Jim Seaney and his team will have multiple cameras stationed throughout the course including: the starting line, the mud pit, the river crossing, scenic farm stretches, the finish line etc. capturing every runner as they make their way through the most interesting course in the Northwest. A drone will follow the pack as well to make sure that the entire 3K and 5K course gets the Ultimook coverage.

Jim Seaney was voted the #1 MaxPreps sports videographer in the nation and specializes in high school sporting events. This is a great opportunity to have a keepsake and lasting memory of your athlete’s run of a lifetime for only $25.  Athletes will have the opportunity to sign up to purchase the DVD on race day, but you can also reserve your Ultimook Race DVD Here.

Each DVD will include:

-Your division RACE with Olympic-style editing.

-A dynamic photo montage set to music featuring 100’s of professional pics from the entire event.

-A commemorative DVD case featuring athletes from this year’s event.

-FREE shipping and handling delivered right to your door.

If you have any questions about the DVDs please contact Jim by email: jim@rocketdogfilms.com

3k Course Map:  3k course is used for novice high school and middle school races.

5k Course Map5k course is used for all JV and Varsity high school races.  When entering the corn, athletes can choose left or right going around the perimeter of the corn maze.  Either way is the same distance.

Open Race:  There is an open 5k race at 8:30am.  You can preregister here.  Otherwise, register onsite the morning of the race (be sure to show up early enough to park offsite.  $20 for adults and $15 for students.

Discounted Nike Uniforms and Gear:  As part of Nike’s sponsorship of the Ultimook Race, Gear Up Sports is offering deep discounts for Nike uniforms and Nike gear.  Click Here to learn more.

Ultimook Gear:  Souvenier t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, and sweatshirts will be available for purchase.

Register via athletic.net:  Coaches please register as soon as possible.  The deadline to register is Sept. 1st by 8pm.  Sept. 2nd at 8am we will be printing out labels and will no longer accept athlete registrations.  I know it is very early in the season, but please register as many athletes as you think may be running and as early as possible. It is better to have too many names entered than not enough.  If you have a runner come that you don’t expect, simply give them a number of an athlete who doesn’t show up and subsequently edit the name of the participant on athletic.net prior to the results being marked as official approximately one week later.

If you have additional questions, please e-mail pat@ultlimookrace.com or call me on my call phone at 503.812.9190.  Please don’t have parents calling me on Friday asking if dogs are allowed on the farm!!!
