Many of you may remember the Tillamook XC Invitational held at Camp Magruder for over 20 years. It was a popular meet combining the beach and coastal forest trails. We are pleased to announce that this invitational is back and scheduled for Oct. 5, 2018.

Teams with less than 10 athletes, your invoice will be calculated once you register your athletes ($10.00/athlete).

Athletes need to be registered on athletic.net by 9pm on Wednesday, October 3rd. You may enter up to 7 athletes in the Varsity Races. All other athletes will compete in the JV races. There will be one middle school girls race and one middle school boys race.
Course Description: The race starts on the beach on the South side of Camp Magruder or the North side of Barview Jetty Park. It will run along the beach for 1/3 of a mile for the 5k and 1/4 of a mile for the 3k. It then runs on a coastal forest trail with a mixture of gravel, forest pine depris, and some sand.
At the 2 mile mark on the 5k course, the trail narrows along Smith Lake for 4/10 of a mile and finishes this stretch with a hard climb up a sand hill (elevation 100 feet, but very soft sand and very steep). Once climbing and descending the sand hill, there is 6/10 of a mile to the finish. Times will not be fast due to the sand on the beach and the sand hill, but cross country will rule. The race actually takes place on 2 different properties: Camp Magruder on the North end and Barview Jetty Park on the South end. The race and parking can be accessed from both properties, although the majority of the race and activity will be centered at Camp Magruder. To enter the Barview County Park, turn West onto Cedar Street from Hwy 101. To enter Camp Magruder, turn West onto Old Pacific Highway from Hwy 101. Check-in at the finish line area at Camp Magruder. You can set up team canopies in the finish line meadow (away from the finish line). If you did not mail a check, please bring it. Packets will be available for pickup which will include numbers, maps, and a garbage bag. Please groom your team area on the way out of the camp/park. We want to keep our hosts happy.
- Early arrivals: Park at Camp Magruder in the designated parking area. You can see this parking area in the map of the course. Parking will cost $5.00 per vehicle at Camp Magruder but it is very close the the finish line area, which will be the center of activity
- Later arrivals: Park at Barview Jetty County Park in the disginated parking area. There will be signs leading you to the parking area once turning into the park. You can see the parking area in the map of the course. There is no cost to park at Barview Jetty County Park, but there is a 1/2 mile walk to the finish line area which will be the center of activity.
- Busses need to drop off kids at Camp Magruder and then go park at the Barview Jetty Parking lot, adjacent to the Barview Jetty Park. You can see bus parking area here in this map.
